GHT Equipment
Like most Paranormal Teams, GHT has quite a large compliment of equipment used during our Investigations. Not all of these items are used on every single vigil as the location will often dictate what is used and how its used, for example some of our items are best suited to indoor Investigations rather than outdoor ones.
BASIC EQUIPMENT
For any team, it is essential to have at least these as minimum requirements.
1) Notepad and pen
2) Camera
3) Torch
4) Thermometer
ADVANCED EQUIPMENT
Once the basic items are in place you can start adding the more expensive and more advanced equipment.
1) EMF Meter
2) Camcorder
3) Infra-Red Torch or lamp
4) Laptop
5) CCTV Monitoring system
6) Walkie Talkies
This does not by any means mean that you HAVE to have all this equipment, the number of items should meet the needs of the size of the team and the type of locations you visit.
The GHT Equipment list does get added too occasionally and so there will be further updates of any such additions on this page.
GHT DOES NOT CONDONE THE USE OF OUIJA BOARDS OR ANY OTHER LETTER-BASED BOARDS. WE ALSO BAN THE PRACTISE OF TABLE TIPPING, SCRYING, DIVINATION AND OTHER NON-SCIENTIFIC METHODS

For detection of Electromagnetic Field fluctuations. 0.01 to 0.03 reading is normally taken to be standard background, anything over this maybe potentially more unknown.

For use with ruling out and pinpointing electrical cabling, ducts and other wiring which could give an EMF meter reading a false indication. We are hoping it will also help to monitor power loss on camcorder and other devices batteries.

Infra Red lamp, made up of IR LED`s, the more lights the more powerful the lamp. GHT have two, one fits beneath the camcorder extending its NightVision range, the other can be set up on a tripod to cover a room or location.

For detection of Electromagnetic Field fluctuations. 0.01 to 0.03 reading is normally taken to be standard background, anything over this maybe potentially more unknown.
GHT employs a number of non-electrical and electrical items to conduct our Investigations. We have some of the simplier methods shown below...

GHT Record Sheet
The Record Sheet is a modified example of various types found in other Ghosthunting publications. The idea was to simplify the note taking whilst retaining the critical information at each Investigation. The GHT Record Sheet has been adapted and changed a few times since we started in 2004, each time we have refined and fine-tuned it a bit more, until at present you see the sheet we have been using since at least 2007 right up to the present.
The layout is very easy. We have TOP SECTION which all the main details such a location, team size, weather conditions, date, time etc, are filled in. Then the sheet is split into three columns, The first one records general events such as moving location, setting up base line tests and other locked-off experiments. The middle section is just reserved for the time of each event and nothing else. The right-hand section is described as PARANORMAL EVENTS, and what this generally means is that we record here anything that goes on during the Investigation that is either picked up via the equipment or by GHT Members or guests on the Investigation. Despite the term "Paranormal", is it not just refined to that but also man-made or natural explanations for something which may have happened too. And, just because we list something in this section, and we have no immediate answers for what it may be, we still do not class it a a genuine paranormal event until further research has been carried out, like if the phenomena has occurred before or if another Team has witnessed or sensed it too. As an Investigation Team, we have to remain open-minded to alot of things, whilst ruling out the obvious ones...
The Record Sheet is also printed on both sides the save on paper usage.

Camcorder Footage
One of the major advances in ghost hunting over the years has been the affordability of excellent Disc or Hard Drive equipped Camcorders with NightVision. Many come in brand new now from around the £200.00 mark, although if you hunt around on websites like Ebay.co.uk then its possible to snag a bargain or two. The GHT Camcorder like the model shown here was one such bargain, purchased for about £80.00. The film footage is vital in backing up the written Record Sheet as it can not only verify things which were heard (if picked up by the microphone) but it will also convey how GHT conducts its investigations. The DVD films produced by GHT, whilst not sold for profit, are readily available to view on this Website and also on YouTube.

Still Picture Evidence
Standard 35mm and Digital Cameras have advanced with technology too, but as with the Camcorder it is possible to get a great little camera at very little cost. The point-and-shoot style Digital Cameras are ideal to get started with, however you may wish to upgrade to something a liitle more powerful in time. Whatever camera is used, their function within ghosthunting remains the same - to capture anything possibly of paranormal origin..!!! GHT uses cameras in the same way as we do Camcorders, to further back up the Record Sheet and make sure that everything ties-in with the Investigation. The backing up of our recorded information with visual evidence is crucial. Its also possible to use a camera in some outdoor locations when the Camcorder cannot be used, for example in bad weather. All GHT Members are requested to send in or upload their pictures to GHT, either online, by post or using the GHT Laptop.
All these things brought together produce the GHT Report - Without one in place, the Report is not complete. GHT always maintain that these are all in place before a Report is posted to the Website and made Public..

GHT Reports can therefore be trusted as genuine based on:
-
Integrity
-
Honesty
-
Factual Content
-
Indepth Research
-
Removal of obvious man-made or natural occurances
-
Unbiased account
-
