With the New Year soon upon us i am very much comitted to cracking on with the layout. Alot of items have been purchased over the last few months which will considerably aid the construction of the layout and we can finally get things going.
The track plan has been completely re-thought and alot of rationalisation has taken place in the removal of points and additional tracks which were not required and would have needed additional funds. Timber is now being purchased to commence the initial baseboard levels as is the start on shed cladding.
On the downside, the recent bad spells of weather which has seen alot of destruction in our garden - fences and fence posts mainly, has halted plans to include the Garden Section of the railway for the time being. More work is required first to make the garden secure and repair the damage caused by the gales. The shed exterior has taken a battering too, and additional work maybe required here too to prolong its lifespan and to make it too secure againsts possible break-in`s.
