Great Eastern Models: September Trip Round-Up..!!

A spontaneous additional trip up to Great Eastern Models in Norwich for September 2020 resulted in some additional items for the layout. Firstly we had the recently purchased Class 350 bought from Ebay for £160 tested to see if it ran - the unit was sold with a DCC chip fitted but the seller said it made a strange noise after running a while, however a bit of lubrication and the chip recoded to fit into my running list and she was whizzing around the GEM test track with no problems!

Secondly the other recent bargain find, A Class 43 Intercity train set by Lima, purchased from a Facebook Selling Page for only £75, was also given some TLC and this too now runs smoothly, however it will not be chipped as its going to run on the DC lower lines.

The troublesome Virgin Class 43 has been sold to GEM, the proceeds went towards sourcing other items to be used on the layout, including an idea for a retail park scene.
