JULY NEWS

First up, there has been a pause in shed activities whilst I went on a well deserved holiday in Devon. During my time there I came across a rather brilliant little sign for the shed, just a shame I couldn't find one railway related, but nonetheless it a stamp of ownership on my little timber man-cave!

Secondly, the latest Argos catalogue has come out in July and I was surprised to see what looked like the Hornby Class 395 Blue Rapier Train set was back in stock. However... closer inspection of both the train and the box reveals that although the Railroad version of the Javelin has been used, for some obscure reason it has been branded "Intercity Express" - no Javelin logo and no SouthEastern branding on it anywhere...

So whats the game Hornby????

Why not just re-issue the Blue Rapier as it was...????

Also, the older train set retailed at around the £80 mark, but some bright spark at Hornby has overpriced this at £99!!! I can get a correctly liveried Eurostar set from Hattons for that price!

This release make no sense unless its aimed at young children as a starter set, for the serious modeller - unless your prepared to add new transfers with the correct details, its an overpriced waste of time...
