The Lower Storage Yard...

So, work on the new Lower Storage Yard was started today and I`m pleased to say that the whole yard was completed with very few issues, plus I got plenty of time to start the test running of locos through it. The basic plan is a four road storage yard which will be mirrored with another four road storage yard above it for the upper lines. If possible there maybe enough room on the upper board to actually do a six road storage yard however I will reserve my thought on that until I start planning out the track work.
Track laid, testing began with a solo Class 91 running around the inside loop, and then later joined by both the resident track testing workhorse, the Class 350 EMU as well as a rare appearance by the Class 390 Pendolino which actually handled the new track layout without a single derailment, so that must be progress...
Also making an appearance on the layout as well are some new scale model cars, courtesy of my wife Joan and a cheap bargain on eBay.
