A new arrival... the Class 156!!

Whilst getting the Eurostar chipped at GEM, I couldn't resist getting a DMU to fill in the missing gap in this area of the Colcester Fleet. Although i had previously owned a Class 156 when Lima issued it, the unit had become a non-runner and and ended up being sold as such. This left a big gap in the DMU fleet and with every other loco being electric on the layout i decided to make up for it and purchase this one.

It is in fact the very same tooling from Lima that Hornby has re-issued here so its a bit like having an old friend back on the tracks. Apart from being made DCC ready (and my model has already been chipped at Great Eastern Models) Hornby has made no further effort to update the details, add working lights or any other frills - what you get is a basic Class 156, but that`s fine, it certainly looks the part when it makes its way around the layout and that`s all that matters to me...
