Colcester West Junction upgrade

Colcester West Junction will be getting a slight upgrade to allow trains to run more smoothly in and out of both Colcester International and the forthcoming garden loop.

The plan is to replace one point with a longer radius one and to add in a Double slip which will allow trains to leave platform 3 and run across onto the inner loop line. A further upgrade of this line will see a second Double slip installed when funds permit which will then allow a connection onto the up line of the inner loop and onwards to Furman Smithy Station.

If you remember originally there was a double track connection here between the two loops, but i removed one track as it wasnt being used much. In hindsight this led to a power connection problem to the inner loop rendering it useless, and since the redesign of the storage yard it now seems that reinstating a link here would again be beneficial.
