NETWORK RAIL ALLOCATION AT DEPOT...

With increasing maintenance schedules for track work, overhead powerlines and signalling in the Colcester area and beyond, Network Rail has decided it requires a more permanent facility based at the Depot and that with this operational it will also require new traction on site rather than having to wait for one to be allocated for their use.

Colcester Depot has agreed to the request from Network Rail and starting from week commencing 04/07/2022 we will see the arrival of a Class 37 diesel and maintenance train comprising of three Network Rail coaches and one closed van.

Network Rail will also be increasing their fleet of road vehicles which again will be based at the Depot. Most of these have already arrived with more due to come later.
