WELCOME TO THE NEW CLASS 91....

Colcester Depot has become quite a collection point for several locomotives and EMUs recently, with both Class 90, Class 350, Class 395 and Class 800 Azuma units all being maintained there or stabled there prior to next duty. Adding to this list is the Class 91 - "Durham Cathedral" - which will be a permanent addition to the Depot and will run passenger services from Colcester International.

This is of course the long awaited Hornby model which has been re-tooled and brought up to correct scale, hosting lighting and lit cab interior and now fully DCC compatible using a 21 pin decoder. The model is in the impressive swallow livery which has been applied here in the same way that Hornby first introduced the 91 way back in the 1990s when it first arrived on the scene, so seeing it in this familiar livery is a nice touch of continuity.

Obviously Colcester is both without track or power at present so this will sit tight in its box until we can test it properly on the new layout.

So, want some pictures? oh, okay then....
